I recently moved my Blockchain Protocol Development Guide to its own site: Blockchain Protocol Development Guide.
The guide is for developers coming from a traditional web application development background who are interested in blockchain protocol development.
The aim is to present the core concepts such a developer should understand before getting into the details of a particular blockchain implementation. This includes block production, fork-choice, finality, and other supporting ideas like cryptography, networking, serialization, and Merkle trees.
It is not a guide about smart contract development. It is about the underlying blockchain system upon which smart contracts and other blockchain applications can then be built.
You can read it here: Blockchain Protocol Development Guide.
